This website is operated by the Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest (ICKSP) at St Walburge’s, Preston (“we”, “us”, “our”). We are the data controller responsible for any personal data collected through this site.

This policy explains what limited information we collect when you visit, why, and what rights you have. We’ve kept it deliberately short and plain, because this site collects very little.

Who we are

The Sharing our Stories website is run by ICKSP / St Walburge’s, St Walburge’s Presbytery, Weston Street, Preston, PR2 2QE. If you have any questions about this policy or your personal data, you can contact us at archivesw@icksp.org.uk.

What we collect, and why

Website analytics. We use Burst Statistics, a privacy-friendly analytics tool, to understand how the site is used (for example, which pages are popular). Burst runs in cookieless mode: it does not set cookies or store data on your device, it collects only anonymised information, and all of that data is stored on our own server. It is not shared with any third party, and it does not identify you personally. Our lawful basis for this is our legitimate interest in understanding and improving the website.

Embedded map. Our contact page includes a map embedded from Google Maps so you can find us easily. When that map loads, Google may set its own cookies and receive your IP address. This processing is carried out by Google under its own privacy policy, which you can read at policies.google.com/privacy. If you would prefer not to load Google’s content, you can avoid the contact page or block third-party cookies in your browser.

Hosting. Our website is hosted by Hostinger. Like most web hosts, Hostinger’s servers may automatically record standard technical information (such as IP addresses) in server logs for security and to keep the site running. This is a routine part of operating any website.

We do not run a contact form, we do not collect names or email addresses through this site, and we do not use the site for marketing.

How long we keep information

Anonymised analytics data is retained only for as long as it is useful for understanding how the site is used, and is then removed. We do not hold any personal contact details submitted through this website, because the site does not collect any.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have rights over your personal data, including the right to access it, correct it, have it erased, restrict or object to its use, and request its portability. As this site collects almost no personal data, there is very little for us to hold, but if you have any questions or wish to make a request, please contact us at archivesw@icksp.org.uk.

Complaints

If you have a concern about how your personal data is handled, we’d encourage you to contact us first so we can help. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK’s data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk or by calling 0303 123 1113.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised “last updated” date.
